Solidarity needed, come to The Hague, Netherlands! December 26-27-28
2014: Action Days in The Hague for De Vloek and autonomous spaces.

Because more and more autonomous social centres are being threatened and
evicted, an Action Weekend will take place on December 26-28 in The
Hague. The city of The Hague wants to evict De Vloek social centre on
April 1st 2015. Sometimes you have to fight for what you love, and now
is the time. We would like to invite you to come to The Hague and join
the action weekend. Stop the eviction of De Vloek, defend autonomous
spaces and social centres!

During the action weekend there will be demonstrations, actions and room
for autonomous actions. We can accomodate sleeping places, if you are
planning to stay for the weekend send us an e-mail at
devloek@riseup.net. A vegan kitchen will be serving food and a legal
team is on standby for the whole weekend.

Time and again, autonomous social centres have to step aside for yuppie
projects. This year, De Valreep in Amsterdam was evicted to make room
for a luxury Grand Café, and now the city of The Hague wants to evict
and demolish De Vloek social centre to build a sailing centre.
Everywhere you go, beautiful initiatives that have been built from the
bottom up have to disappear for yuppies. The world should not revolve
around the interests of real estate developers, but around people. That
is why we are organising three days full of demonstrations and actions
on December 26-28.

De Vloek was squatted 12 years ago and has made its mark on the harbor
of Scheveningen. Many non-profit initiatives have been developed there.
De Vloek is home to the organic vegan restaurant “Water en Brood”, the
concert hall “de Piratenbar”, many work spaces, studios, living spaces
and rehearsal rooms for bands. Everything that happens in De Vloek has
been started and kept running without subsidies, and the building is
self managed. Hundreds of people come every week to activities at De
Vloek.

Keep a close eye on our website and Facebook the coming weeks, where we
will give regular updates on the situation of De Vloek. Also, we'd like
to ask you to help us to spread our flyers, posters and call-out in your
area, on social media and other means.

See you in The Hague 26-28 December! Stop the eviction of De Vloek,
defend autonomous spaces and social centres!
