The activists currently occupying a former Liverpool bank plan to lock themselves in the vault if police and bailiffs try to evict them.
The protesters – known as the Love Activists – have been inside the former Bank of England building in Castle Street for 13 days.
Since then it has been draped in anti-establishment banners and used as a shelter for the homeless.
James Bradley, from anti-eviction group Bailiff Watch, today said in a statement on behalf of the activists: “If the police and the bailiffs do attempt to storm the building, there’s an intention to lock themselves in the vault, which is going to be very difficult to get them out of.”
